Hey Everyone! We made it here alive and safe!!!

We had a fun-filled trip over to Panama City Beach, especially with the wrong turns and detours (which were completely my fault). We had lunch at Timber Creek Mall in Hattiesburg, where Carter Martin took a turn on the Bungee Jump. After that, we loaded up and trucked on to Memphis. After a few sightseeing adventures, we arrived at Laguna Beach around 7pm. Then, after some debriefing and pulled pork (Thank you Brent Gordy!), we wrapped up the night with some volleyball and basketball.

We are utilizing this week to really dive into the book of 1 Peter. We also want you to follow along with what our students are doing, so these posts will keep you updated with what our students are studying. We would love for you to follow along!

Tuesday started off with our students spending some Quiet Time in 1 Peter. Today they read 1 Peter 1:3-12. In it, Peter does his best to share the entirety of the Gospel in one chapter. Verse 8 is a key verse where it says:

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.”

Pray that our kids begin to see Jesus this week, even though He cannot be seen by human eyes.

For Session 1, we looked into 1 Peter 1:13-25. Our sessions are a little different than what many of our students have seen. We take a big passage and slowly walk through it phase-by-phase. This takes a long time (for example, Session 1 took over an hour). Despite the length, our students really enjoy the time spent in God’s Word. We spent most of that time going through the Gospel in its entirety, with Scripture to back it up. Then, we addressed holiness, and what it means to be holy today.

Following Session 1, we spent the afternoon at the beach, which is always a blast. Don’t worry! No sunburns…yet. As I write this, we are preparing for Small Groups and Supper. I hope this finds you well, and all of your students are having a great time. More photos to follow!

See you tomorrow!
